Orange Cardamom Fizz

orange cardamom fizz mocktail recipe

This bright, spiced Orange Cardamom Fizz is the mocktail I make for myself most frequently. It’s so easy to throw together - just keep the syrup, an orange, and some tonic water on hand and you’ll have everything you need to treat yourself to a complex-tasting drink any day of the week. And it’s easy to pair with your or your friend’s favorite spirit if you’re in the mood for a cocktail.

A little bonus - the Cardamom Honey Syrup for this recipe is also great in coffee!

ORANGE CARDAMOM FIZZ RECIPE
makes 1 mocktail

INGREDIENTS
• 2 tbsp orange juice*
• 1 tbsp cardamom honey syrup (recipe below)
• 1 cup tonic water

* I like to squeeze my own orange for this rather than use store bought, but you can do either. If you choose to squeeze your own, juice half, then you can use the other half for garnish.

METHOD
mix together orange juice and cardamom honey syrup. fill a glass with ice. pour orange juice + syrup mixture over the ice. add tonic water. stir. garnish with orange slices (optional).

CARDAMOM HONEY SYRUP

INGREDIENTS
• 1/4 cup cardamom pods, crushed*
• 1 cup honey
• 1 cup water

*I have made cardamom syrup with ground cardamom and it tastes just as good. You’ll have more flecks of spice in your syrup, but that’s ok.

METHOD
add cardamom, honey, and water to a sauce pan. set it over low heat on the stove and bring to a simmer. simmer for 10 minutes until it has thickened a bit. strain into an airtight jar or bottle.
